Sherwood Shelving uses high-quality cam fittings from Titus Group, one of the world’s leading cabinet connector manufacturers. These cams are comparable to Hettich VB or Hafele Rafix cams, offering the same reliable performance.
Installing these cam fittings into a fixed shelf is straightforward and requires only a rubber mallet. To install, align the cams with the holes in the shelf, ensuring the tail of the cam is positioned correctly in the back hole. Gently tap the front of the cam into place while keeping the tail securely in the back. Don’t hammer the front of the cam all the way in, but just set it into position. By holding the tail in the back hole this prevents the cam from twisting or the tail from dislodging, which can complicate installation.
Once you get the hang of it, the process becomes quick and easy. Be sure to work on a firm surface, and for added efficiency, you can stack multiple shelves while installing the cams.
A fixed shelf cam hole drilling jig is a must have for any serious installer. You never know when you might run into a snag when installing closet organizers and you need to shorten the length of a shelf. Line up the jig where the holes are to go and then using a drill, connect it to the drill bit spindle and drill the two cam holes. The depth of the hole can be preset making it easy to drill the perfect hole.
This jig can be specially ordered and can take approximately one month to receive. Contact our office for more details.
